In July and August 2025, we are once again inviting you to a special workshop at the Kino im Blauen Salon: Anyone who has always wanted to know how analog film projection works will have the opportunity to experience the classic craft of cinema for themselves on two dates.
Exactly 3 weeks ago our open air cinema came to an end. Summer-loving cineastes will look at their watches for a moment, open-air cinema? Looking back? It's only June, well, you probably missed the very first open-air cinema of the season - time for a little review:
What would the start of the semester at the Blauer Salon be without a big flick through the new program? Exactly: almost like going to the movies without seeing a movie. Luckily, our design team is once again making sure that it not only crackles on the screen, but also on paper. And because everything is always a little different for us, the magazine is also reinvented every time.
Next week the time has finally come: Our OPEN AIR CINEMA in front of the HfG goes into its 6th round!
For those who can't stand being indoors any longer, here's a little teaser: Our open-air cinema will soon be back in front of the HfG!
After long program meetings, the new film program for the summer semester is ready for the beginning of spring! Once again, we have collected, discussed and evaluated dozens of film suggestions...
Well, we're off then. The program from April is in the bag, but it's still a while until then. The cinema is closed, we'll be traveling in other spheres until then.
Yesterday was the last screening of a brightly colored film series by FARBEN, which virtually made us forget the grey autumn and winter days of the winter semester in a frenzy of color. We take this review as an opportunity to present this year's trailer to you, namely the way the “trailer” was originally used in the movie theater, as a “trailer” after the actual show. Many thanks to Alex Thelen for this little masterpiece and to the entire Blue Salon team!
This Friday, February 14, we cordially invite you to spend an extraordinary evening together in the Blue Salon of the HfG Karlsruhe. Our Open Stage starts at 8 pm and, as always, anyone who plays an instrument is welcome to take the stage! Whether it's a jazzy classic, a spontaneous improv or a cool funk beat - the evening is yours! 🎷🎶
Next Saturday, we will be showing SHOAH (1985) by Claude Lanzmann. The almost 10-hour film will be shown in cooperation with the Kinemathek Karlsruhe on two consecutive days and in two different cinemas. The screenings are part of the nationwide cinema initiative January 27 - 80 Years of the Liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, which was initiated by the Haus des Dokumentarfilms in Stuttgart.
