The year is 1963 and Mike Hynson and Robert August are among the world's best surfers of the 1960s. Together with surf-loving filmmaker Bruce Brown, the three leave the crowded beaches of California and follow the summer around the world - always in search of the perfect wave. Their journey takes them from America to the little-explored waters of Africa, via the shark-infested coasts of Australia and New Zealand to the tropical paradises.
At the 1989 Skateboard World Championships in Münster, over 250 skaters - including legends such as Tony Hawk and Lance Mountain - compete for the title of “Champion of the World”. They celebrate the newly built pool with breathtaking tricks and daring jumps. A gripping contemporary document of the scene, which was shown at the Berlinale in 1991.
