The politically left-wing director Nanni is facing his greatest challenge: his son will soon be born, and Nanni wants to analyze all the imponderables of raising a child in advance - and act accordingly. However, this is where the intellectual director's problem lies: he mostly leaves it to brooding and lamenting. When his son is born, he decides to finally grow up. But this is not as easy as he thinks.
