Businessman David Mann is driving his 1970 Plymouth Valiant Custom on the highway when a tanker truck suddenly appears out of nowhere. David has no desire to drive behind the truck, which is traveling too slowly for him. So he sets off on an overtaking maneuver, unaware that this will have dire consequences. The tranquil atmosphere of the American wasteland suddenly turns into a battlefield, where the seemingly invisible driver of the truck becomes a dangerous opponent. For no apparent reason, the horsepower-boasting monster begins to hunt David down. The harmless businessman tries everything to get rid of the truck, but no trick seems to be enough to achieve this. A merciless duel with an uncertain outcome begins.
