A low-budget, sci-fi satire that focuses on a group of scientists whose mission is to destroy unstable planets. 20 years into their mission, they have to battle their alien mascot, that resembles a beach ball, as well as a "sensitive" and intelligent bombing device that starts to question the meaning of its existence.

Supporting Film: The Flat

Director: Jan Švankmajer | 1968 | 13 min | 16mm | Without dialogue | with Juraj Herz, Ivan Kraus

A man, a Kafka-like character, is locked in between four. walls. The setting is poor: table, chair, some youth-pictures. He is completely isolated, there is no communication with the outside world. Every attempt to get into contact with outside fails. A mechanical Faust slings him back into isolation. The end: despair, resignation and pessimism.
