In October 2020, one of the largest pharmaceutical producers in the USA was sentenced to billions in fines. The Sackler family's pharmaceutical dynasty stretches back 70 years and came to a surprising end when their company Purdue Pharma was broken up. In this documentary, director Laura Poitras revisits the history of the oxycodone producer and focuses specifically on the case of artist Nan Goldin, who protested for years against the Sackler family and the opioid crisis in the United States.
