Richard, a shoe salesman and recently separated father of two sons, leads an uneventful life. He believes he's prepared for anything until he meets Christine, a lonely artist and taxi driver who brings her world to life through her art. Their young relationship, however, is shaped by the challenges of everyday life. Robby, Richard's seven-year-old son, views life with less concern and begins a strange online relationship. Meanwhile, his older brother Peter becomes the object of the neighborhood girls' first expressions of affection, with them using him as a subject for their experiments. Through all this, they experience ongoing crises that reflect their loneliness and insecurity, as they struggle to find a way out of their isolation. Me and You and Everyone We Know tells a poetic and profound story about the human longing for connection in a lonely world. Miranda July shines not only in the lead female role but also proves herself a skilled writer and director.
